At the end of a long day, I can look back and I know that I’m making a difference.
Moving from Mali to a small town outside of Paris, France before he was born, Batié’s parents hoped to provide a better life for him and his four brothers.
Though not the eldest — Batié is a triplet and the middle of the five children — growing up he always felt like the one responsible for keeping his brothers together, fixing their problems, and mediating their disputes. Though he won’t admit it outright, that protector-like quality is something he brings to monitoring visits every day. He is amazingly invested in the safety of trial participants, and demonstrates a caring, protective attitude in the way he describes the patients whose progress he watches over.
Batié is a graduate of our Bridge program. He believes the Bridge program is the single greatest aspect of PRA because it not only shows that we’re invested in our people, but that we’re actively looking to grow talent from within rather than replacing it from outside the company. He also believes that only the best quality people are attracted to, and stay with, PRA. And why the teams he works with are all “all-stars”.
As a Clinical Research Associate, my job is to monitor the benefits and risks of a compound in development. I don’t meet the patients personally, but I feel really connected to them. I am protecting their well-being and ensuring the integrity of the study.
